In this policy, “DonCapi™”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to DonCapi™. “You” and “your” refer to customers, account holders, business customers, recipients and users of DonCapi.com.
2. Purpose of This Policy
This policy explains:
- how prices may be displayed;
- how VAT may apply;
- what happens if DonCapi™ is not VAT registered;
- what changes if DonCapi™ becomes VAT registered;
- how receipts and invoices may be issued;
- how refunds may affect invoices;
- how international taxes and customs charges may apply;
- how business customers can request order documentation;
- how customer and accounting records may be handled.
3. VAT Status
DonCapi™ may not be VAT registered at launch.
If DonCapi™ is not VAT registered:
- we should not charge VAT separately;
- we should not issue VAT invoices;
- prices shown should not be described as including VAT unless that is accurate;
- order confirmations may act as ordinary receipts, not VAT invoices;
- customers cannot reclaim VAT from DonCapi™ orders if no VAT was charged by DonCapi™.
If DonCapi™ becomes VAT registered, this policy, checkout wording, invoices, receipts and tax settings should be updated.
4. VAT Registration Threshold
UK businesses may need to register for VAT when taxable turnover passes the VAT registration threshold.
As of the latest GOV.UK guidance checked for this policy, a business must register for VAT if its total taxable turnover for the last 12 months goes over £90,000.
DonCapi™ should monitor turnover and seek accounting advice when approaching the VAT registration threshold.
5. If DonCapi™ Becomes VAT Registered
If DonCapi™ becomes VAT registered, we may update:
- website pricing;
- checkout tax display;
- VAT number;
- invoices;
- receipts;
- accounting settings;
- WooCommerce tax settings;
- refund documents;
- business customer documentation;
- this policy;
- Legal Notice and Business Information page.
Once VAT registered, DonCapi™ may need to charge VAT on taxable sales where applicable and issue VAT invoices where required.
6. Price Display
Prices on DonCapi.com should be clear before checkout.
Prices may be shown:
- including applicable taxes;
- excluding taxes;
- with taxes calculated at checkout;

The exact display may depend on:
- DonCapi™ VAT status;
- customer location;
- product type;
- delivery location;
- ecommerce settings;
- applicable tax rules;
- fulfilment method.
Customers should review the checkout total before placing an order.
7. Delivery Charges and Tax
Delivery charges may be shown separately at checkout.
Depending on the tax status and applicable rules, delivery charges may or may not be subject to VAT or other taxes.
If DonCapi™ becomes VAT registered, tax treatment of delivery charges should be reviewed and configured correctly.
8. Receipts
After placing an order, customers may receive an order confirmation email or receipt.

9. VAT Invoices
A VAT invoice can only be issued where DonCapi™ is VAT registered and the transaction requires or supports a VAT invoice.
If DonCapi™ is not VAT registered, we cannot provide a VAT invoice.

Please include:
- order number;

Invoice requirements may depend on the type of invoice and the transaction.
12. Order Confirmation Is Not Always an Invoice

It may not always be a tax invoice.
An order confirmation may be used for customer records, returns, refunds and delivery support.
If you require a formal invoice, contact:
13. Refunds and Credit Notes
If an order is refunded, cancelled, partially refunded or adjusted, order records may be updated.
If DonCapi™ is VAT registered, refunds may require corrected VAT records, credit notes or adjusted invoices where applicable.
If DonCapi™ is not VAT registered, refunds will usually be shown through ordinary order records or payment provider refund confirmations.
Refunds are usually made to the original payment method.

Gift cards may have separate terms.

Please read our Gift Cards page where applicable.
16. International Customers
International customers may be subject to taxes, customs charges, import duties, local VAT, courier handling fees or other charges in their own country.
Unless clearly stated otherwise at checkout, customers are responsible for import charges applied by the destination country.
DonCapi™ usually cannot refund import VAT, customs duty, courier handling fees, brokerage fees or local taxes paid directly to a courier, postal service or customs authority.
